The HSBC Road To Wimbledon 14U Finals are taking place this week at the AELTC, Wimbledon.
The 14U National Challenge event gives opportunities for the juniors to progress through County Finals and then onwards to the National Finals at Wimbledon.
The event is now in its third stage and has been open to boys and girls of all standards.
In the first stage any tennis facility can organise a singles tournament in the spring for a minimum of eight boys and/or eight girls. Some have a much larger entry but eight is the minimum entry.
In stage two the winners and often the runners-up automatically qualify for the County Finals held on set dates in June/July.
This means that every club or tennis facility that enters is automatically represented at the County Finals. No player may represent a club facility at the County Finals that has not staged and run a minimum eight player draw.
The third stage, which is happening this week, is the National Finals which are held at Wimbledon, where the 44 County Finals winners and 20 runners-up qualify to play at the famous All England Lawn Tennis Club grass courts.
Competing in this year's National Finals are some of the top 14U players in the country. There are 16 groups of four players who will compete in round robin formats for the first few days.
Yorkshire will be represented by Andrew Atkinson and Adam Williamson in the Boys Singles event. Andrew is also taking part in the doubles and will be partnered by Lancashire’s Ross Mackenzie.
In the girls' event, Alice Copland will be representing Yorkshire. Alice will be taking part in the singles and Doubles competition. In the doubles she will be partnered by Derbyshire’s Emily Hewland.

The knockout stages will begin later this week as the event runs until the finals on Saturday August 21st.
