Beechwood LTC staged the inspire2coach junior open (LTA Grade 4) from Sunday 31st JUly - Wednesday 4th August. Players from across the Midlands travelled to compete in the event at the Earsldon venue. There was local successes as Harry Lazell (Warwick) beat Tom Craig (Beechwood) in a nail-biting 8 & under boys final which went all the way to the wire - 10-9. Ben Brewster (Coventry) produced some top-class tennis to beat last years champion Josh Hadley (Worcester) 7-1 7-6 in the 9 & under boys final, with Eva Healy (Leamington) just getting pipped by Millie Platt (Solihull) in the Girls 9 & under event. There was more local success in the 10 & under event with Ben More (Uni of Warwick) overcoming Matt Pandya (Coventry). The 12 & under event saw Ethan Allies-Proctor (Kenilworth) beat the top-seed Tom Fenner (Beechwood) with Tyree Williams (Beechwood) winning the consolation event. Tyree's older brother Joel (Beechwood) then followed up with victory over Gurvinder Sidhu (Cov North Warwicks) in the 14 & under consolation with Matthew Naylor (Beechwood) beating Tim Griew (Kenilworth) in the main draw. Finally, Olly Alleman (Alcester) beat Jack Shadlow (Banbury) in the 16 & under event.
