Well done to all competitors and special mentions to the four players; Charlotte Le Merle aged 8, Dominic Lelean aged 9, Callum Thoms aged 8 all from Worthing and Evan Blake aged 8 from Storrington competing for the first time at West Worthing Tennis and Squash Club. We look forward to seeing them as regular competitors at the club in the future. The event was won this week by Sam Harris aged 8 from Oxted in Surrey who played really well and won all 6 matches he played. Runner-up this week was Monty Pryce aged 9 from Farnham in Surrey.
Sam’s wins on Saturday have taken him to the top of the clubs mini orange leader board with 21 wins from 22 matches played moving ahead of Matthew Spencer, Thomas Hopper and Sophie Kitson. With one more orange event to play this winter season at the club there is still time for the positions at the top to change.
Thanks to all the parents, especially those that assisted with scoring during the event. Any tennis players interested in competing at West Worthing Tennis and Squash Club should contact the club on 01903 247270 or check out the website on www.wwc.org.uk for details of upcoming events.
With 100 events planned for 2010 there will be opportunities to compete regularly at the club. The club is looking for new members and with a comprehensive coaching programme and regular organised play sessions the club is a great place to play all year round. If you are interested in joining the club has some great offers to new members so please give us a call on 01903 247270 to find out more.
