Head Coach – East Park, Wolverhampton

This is an exciting opportunity for an individual coach or tennis operator to have access to 6 outdoor park courts.

East Park has recently received approval for a £1 million Heritage Lottery Grant to help restore it to its former glory, the grant will enable Wolverhampton City Council to press ahead its wide ranging refurbishment of the park.

Wolverhampton City Council are now inviting expressions of interests from suitably experienced individual coaches or tennis operators to deliver a tennis development programme at the park site.

The local authority is seeking an individual coach or tennis operator with a proven track record to manage and deliver the coaching and competition programme. The successful applicant will be required to deliver a tennis development programme including the following:

• A Mini Tennis, junior and adult coaching programme.
• A comprehensive competition programme for juniors and adults.
• To develop a sustainable outreach programme working with schools and the local community.
• Offer training and follow on opportunities for volunteers and young leaders.
• Be able to offer individual and squad sessions.
• Build strong links with surrounding tennis clubs.
• Has a strategic understanding of player pathways and club links.

 The successful individual coach or tennis operator must have the following:

• At least three years experience of tennis delivery.  
• Club Coach Award (or equivalent) higher with current LTA Licence.
• Experience of working in a community setting.  
• Strong leadership skills of a team of coaches.
• Willing to learn and adapt to the running of a new programme.

The coaching and competition programme will be coach owned, there will be no court fees. There is also a pot of funding available for marketing and promotion of the programme.
