Shropshire player Chloe Hughes has been enjoying success on the international stage and is set to represent the county at the AEGON Winter National Tour Finals this Friday.
The 14-year-old, from Whitchurch, won the consolation draw of the AEGON International Wrexham in December last year after losing a tight, three-set match in the first round of the main draw to Swiss player Anais Gabriel.
Hughes defeated two internationally ranked players on her way to victory in the consolation event, beating fellow Brit Jodie Anna Burrage, ranked 383 in the U14 Tennis Europe standings in the final.
The AEGON FutureStar has also been performing well domestically, rising into the top ten of the 14U Winter National Tour leaderboard.
This has earned her an invitation to the AEGON Winter National Tour Finals, a grade one LTA event held at the National Tennis Centre from Friday onwards.
