Helensburgh's Gordon Reid is set to face Dutch world No 6 Ronald Vink in Wednesday's men's singles second round at the US Open USTA Wheelchair Tennis Championships in St Louis, Missouri after a straight sets victory in his opening match on Tuesday. The 18-year-old British No 2 and world No 16 beat Chile's Robinson Mendez 6-3, 6-4 in the first round of the fifth and final Super Series event on the 2010 NEC Wheelchair Tennis Tour. Reid now has his third meeting this season against sixth seed Vink, having endured two narrow losses to the Dutchman at May's World Team Cup and July's British Open On a day that marks two years to go to the start of the wheelchair tennis event at the London 2012 Paralympics, Reid is also set to begin his men's doubles challenge as he partners fellow Briton Marc McCarroll against Canadian duo Eric Gilbert and Yann Mathieu.
