Tennis coach, Katharine Brown is the pride of the nation after being crowned Miss Scotland 2009 last night.
Gorgeous Katharine, from Dunblane, beat nine other finalists to land the glittering crown and title at Glasgow’s Clyde Auditorium. It was a night to remember as the 2,000-strong crowd clapped and cheered for their favourites. But it was tennis coach and model Katharine’s star quality which shone through.
The thrilled 22-year-old,, screamed “Oh my God”, as she was declared winner. She then mouthed: “Thank you, thank you, thank you.”
The beauty was a favourite with judges and audience alike — and she stunned the panel with her poise, personality and charm.
Duncan James, from boyband Blue, hosted the bash. He added: “I said Miss Scotland would have to be supergirl and I reckon we’ve just found her. All the girls were stunning but the winner just stood out for the judges.”
Katharine, who is formerly a top Scottish junior, stopped playing competitive tennis when she 16.
" I don’t regret it,” Katharine said. “I still enjoy it though these days it’s more through coaching."
Her tennis skills came in handy when she featured in an episode of “Trial and Retribution” last year.
And as part of the Miss Scotland competition she has chosen to support the Dan Maskell Tennis Trust, which aims to help disabled people play tennis.
