St Andrews youngster, Morven McCulloch won her first match at the AEGON Pro-Series, in Edinburgh today.
McCulloch (14) who attends the Tennis Academy at St George's in Edinburgh, has never played in a pofessional tournament and was awarded a wildcard into qualifying.
In windy conditions at Craiglockhart Tennis Centre, McCulloch held her own to beat Edita Raca (GBR), 6-1, 6-3 to progress to the next round. Tomorrow she will face Jodie Kinnon (Hampshire and Isle of Wight) for a place in the main draw.
The AEGON Pro-Series Edinburgh runs until Sunday 10th May and entrance into the ground is free for spectators. Play starts at 10am daily.
