Judy Murray will be at Kippen LTC this weekend to officially open the Stirlingshire tennis club's brand new courts.
Judy Murray, mum of Andy and Jamie, will perform the honours at Kippen Tennis Club which has recently renovated its two courts at a cost of approximately £36,000.
President Mark Quinn explains, “The work involved extending the playing area as well as resurfacing and the erection of a new perimeter fence and was undertaken with financial support from sportscotland, Stirling Council and Tennis Scotland.
“Although we’re a small club, we keep active within the communityand utilised many items of signed Murray memorabilia to help in fundraising for the project. We are delighted that Judy has agreed to come along to perform the official opening.
“We have set ourselves a number of targets and last year we doubled the number of participants in junior coaching to 40. This is very encouraging as the case for funding was based around the development of the junior game at the club.”
The opening will take place this Sunday, 10th May at 2 pm, after which Judy will lead a series of on court drills with the club’s juniors and then participate in a question and answer session with Five Live’s Ian Turner, himself a club member.
