On Saturday the Grand Prix event of the Tayside Mini Tennis Tour was held at Strathallan School.
This was the culmination of 47 events held during the summer months at various venues in Tayside for players aged U8, U9 and U10. A total of 1,600 matches have been played during the Tour which has been a phenomenal success.
Organiser of the Tour, Jane Morrison from Kinnoull Tennis Club said: "It has been amazing to see so many very young players competing and the standard has got better and better. Children are learning from a very young age how to play matches, win and lose.
"Andy Murray has helped create a huge potential market of players and the Tour has proved that children can gain a huge amount from competing and really enjoy playing the game. At one of the U8 events held at Kinnoull we had 31 players, some as young as 5 years old!"
Jane would like to thank all the sponsors who have made the Tour possible and provided t-shirts for every competitor and very many thanks to Strathallan School for the use of their magnificent facilities for the Grand Prix and some of the events.
Players were invited to the Grand Prix based on the number of events they had competed in as well as their success at these events. Results were as follows:
