Ewan Moore, the third seed from Prestwick, won the Scottish 14 & Under Indoor Championships at Scotstoun, Glasgow beating fourth seed Jeremy Gschwendtner of the Riverside Club Chiswick 6-2 6-1 in the final.
Gschwendtner had earlier beaten top seeded Scot James Shemilt 2-6 6-1 [10-7] in a marathon semi-final. Shemilt took 3rd place with Ewen Lumsden of the David Lloyd West End Academy winning the consolation event.
11-year-old Ali Collins from Bridge of Allan was the shock winner of the girls’ event. She followed up a 6-2 7-6(5) quarter final win against fourth seeded Stephanie Booth with a 6-1 6-7(4) [10-7] semi-final victory against top seed Rebecca Donald of Loughborough.
In the final Collins beat fellow unseeded Scot Nicole Clark of Prestwick 6-2 6-1. The Ayrshire girl had won through to the final with two victories over seeded players. Hannah Worseley of Stirling won the consolation event.
