BRITISH No.1 Elena Baltacha justified her top seeding as she saw off American Carly Gullickson in straight sets to secure the AEGON Trophy in Nottingham.
The 26-year-old Scot triumphed 6-2, 6-2 against the 23-year-old from Cincinnati to get her grass-court season off to a fine start at the Nottingham Tennis Centre.

Currently at No.188 in the world, Berankis who celebrates his 20th birthday in a fortnight, showed just why he is considered a big hope for the future as he triumphed 6-4, 6-4 over the world No.137 Soeda to seal his first senior tournament win at this level.Sarah Borwell and her partner Raquel Kops-Jones who were crowned ladies' doubles champions and top seeds Colin Fleming and Ken Skupski won the men's doubles title to make it a hat-trick of titles for British players at the tournament.
