Notts LTA is supported by a number of volunteer officials who hold regular Management Committee meetings.
Tony is a former tennis player turned coach and is best known as the long time coach of Stefan Edberg. As a player he played at Wimbledon several times and also represented Great Britain in the Davis Cup. Tony captained the Davis Cup team led by Tim Henman and has also coached Greg Rusedski, Marat Saffin, Petr Korda and Anne Keothavong.
Tony became President of the Notts LTA in 2002 and is a Trustee of the Notts LTA.
After a career in television production and script development, Christopher Walker is now the course leader for the MA in Television Scriptwriting at De Montfort University. He is the Vice Chair of Dance 4, a national dance agency, and is also on the board of Writing East Midlands and is a former trustee of Nottingham Playhouse. He is a life-long tennis enthusiast and, as his parents first met at the Tally Ho Tennis Club in Edgbaston, he literally owes his life to tennis!
Chris is a non-tennis playing Chartered Accountant who has been in charge of the Notts LTA accounts and on the Management Committee since 1988.
Ann has been involved in tennis in Notts for the past 30 years, first as a tennis mum helping organise junior tournaments, and for the past 15 years on the Management Committee, laterly as County Secretary.
Rick has represented the County on the Main Council of the LTA since 2004. He is a past Chairman of Notts LTA and is in charge of the volunteers at all the main Tennis Centre events. He is a member at David Lloyd West Bridgford.
Peter is the longest servng member of the Notts LTA having served on a number of committees since 1960, including being Chairman in 1978 and 1979. Peter is currently Chairman of the Ground Committee, a position he has held for over 20 years, and is also a Trustee of the Notts LTA. HIs dedication to tennis was rewarded when he was presented with the LTA Meritorious Service Award at the Queen's Club in December 2006.
John has been involved in tennis over many years, first playing team tennis in 1960 for Magdala. He is a qualified coach and has also served several years as a member of the Notts Coaching Committee. Now as League Chairman he continues to sustain the vigour of our League club tennis.
John has been involved in Notts tennis since 1985, first as Mens' League Secretary, then as League Chairman for nine years, followed by County Chairman for four years. Since retiring John took up refereeing and was the referee for the Junior County Closed and many other senior events.
David joined the management committee as the competitions and tournaments co-ordinator in 2004. He is now the county veterans co-ordinator.and provides league tennis reports for the local newspaper. David has held the position of county champion in all age groups and is now playing for the over 60s mens county team.
Jill, a recently retired teacher, is a new member of the management committee. She is the captain of the ladies over 50 county veterans team and is a qualified referee who is the tournament organiser for the West Bridgford Junior Grand Prix tournament.
Brought up on the shale courts at Littleover TC ( Derby ), and following a gap of 10 years playing squash, Andy joined Charnwood LTC (Loughborough) in 1989 & spent 9 years as Treasurer. Started coaching in 1991 mainly at Charnwood & Kegworth, switching to Lady Bay in the 2003. Spent 6 years as a “tennis parent” with Rebecca. Accredited LTA referee since 2005, and started long distance running in 2006. Andy is the referee the Notts Junior County Closed as well as other Grade 4 events in the county. In 2010, he became Chairman of the Notts LTA Junior Tournaments Committee when he also joined the Notts LTA Management Committee.
