Forest Hall Community Tennis Club is the first venue in the North East to be awarded Clubmark accreditation and Beacon status on the same day.
Dave Davis along with the club committee continue to put in endless hours behind the scenes to help develop and grow the opportunities at the North Tyneside venue. Andrew Lovatt who is the club secretary embarked on the Clubmark process to ensure that the club had the correct policies in place, is marketing itself to the local community and providing quality programmes. This was supported by Christine Klee who is the Tennis Services Assistant for British Tennis in the area and when the folder was assessed is was one of the best ones in recent months.
Dave who heads up the programme, and has been involved for a large number of years, offers free and affordable opportunities meaning that the club were an outstanding candidate for Beacon status. The club is looking at redeveloping their courts over the coming months and years by working with North Tyneside council and we hope that their goals and aspirations will come true.
Peter Bretherton, LTA president, was proud to present both plaques to the club and highlighted “Forest Hall volunteers have helped provide the local tennis community with a facility and a programme for everyone to get involved in. British Tennis would not survive without volunteers and their continued dedication and commitment will maintain and grow the opportunities on offer.”
