Ken Skupski and Colin Fleming came close to causing an upset at Roland Garros against the number four seeds, Wesley Moodie and Dick Norman. In this second round match at the French Open, the British pair pushed their seeded opponents all the way in a match which lasted over two and half hours.Having lost the first set on a tiebreak, Liverpool-born Skupski and Scotland’s Fleming turned the match round and took the second set 6-4 in just over half an hour. The battle continued into a long third set, which went the distance into a match deciding tiebreak. Moodie and Norman let their experience show as they clinched the tiebreak, and a place in the third round, winning 7-4.This was only the second match that ‘Flemski’ had played at the French Open and were unlucky not to continue their campaign, having not lost serve against Moodie and Norman all afternoon on Court 7.With their clay court season now over, the British team, currently ranked 43 in the ATP World Tour Rankings, now turn their attention to the upcoming grass court season, starting with the AEGON Trophy in Nottingham, and will be looking to build on their successes of 2009.
