Lancashire’s 14 & Under Girls Team were celebrating after winning promotion in AEGON County Cup this weekend.

The team won promotion into Group 1 after coming out on top at Batley Tennis Centre in West Yorkshire.

Captained by Kate Warne-Holland, the young team were unbeaten over the three-day competition beating Buckinghamshire, Essex and Cheshire to return to the competition’s top flight in 2011.

The full team was Sabrina Federici, Polly Harlow, Laurie Clark, Alex Herd and Annabel Rowlands.

At the same time, Lancashire’s boys were competing in Group 2B in Nottingham but were unable to match the Girls’ success.

 In a tough group, the team were beaten by Buckinghamshire, Warwickshire and Oxfordshire and will compete in Group 3 next year.

The full team was Jamie Hutchings (Captain), Ross MacKenzie, Charlie Hutchings, Robert Edwards and Ross Watson
