Welcome to AEGON Team Tennis KENT 2011. With the season fast approaching please find information on this year’s leagues to help you prepare for your matches.

 Draw

The draw is viewable on line at http://lta.tournamentsoftware.com/sport/teams.aspx?id=5259A9B5-162D-4278-8C7F-9138094D1958  Find your age group using the filter and click on the draw name to the right of your team name. To view your fixture dates, click on your groups’ ‘matches’ tab. The team listed first (on the left) is the home team.

 We are aware that some clubs have court time pressures. Unfortunately some home clashes are unavoidable. Where clashes occur home clubs will have a number of options: Stagger the start times; Use a nearby annex venue; Reverse the home advantage.

 The dates are fixed dates. The competition has started to use fixed dates to help players/clubs plan their availability/court time. However, there will be flexibility to play before a fixed date if both teams agree and there is prior consent from the league organiser.

 We expect home teams to be accommodating hosts to their away teams and engage in the ethos of ‘team’ competition. This includes welcoming the team, offering drinks/food after the match and using this as an opportunity to showcase your club.

Their details will then appear. It is both team captains responsibility to contact each other before the match. We suggest contacting all opponent captains before your first match. If you give the captaincy on match day to another person please make sure they have the necessary information.

 Rules and Scorecards

Rules and scorecards are available in the competition pack at http://www.lta.org.uk/players-parents/Competition/AEGON-Team-Tennis/Home A hard copy of the rules will be sent to your club main contact in March. You will need to print a scorecard to fill in at the match. Please view the ‘key changes’ document at the above link to see the main rule changes for 2011.

 Results

An online results process is used to record results. More details will be emailed in March.

 British Tennis Membership

To be eligible to compete in AEGON Team Tennis players must be British Tennis Members (BTM) – this is free to all club members. As team captain it is your responsibility to make sure every player in your team is BTM registered. More information is available at www.LTA.org.uk/BritishTennisMembership

 Rating and rankings
