The dedicated team of six are responsible for day to day support for players, parents, coaches and club tennis people. See below for more information about their roles and responsibilities.
Tennis Development Manager
His priorities include supporting coaches, clubs and competition organisers to increase the number of youngsters playing tennis. Also Tudor works to increase the number of affiliated clubs within the county, supports the delivery of schools competitions and works closely with volunteers. Prior to starting this role in 2009, he was firstly a coach at Finchley and then at the Parklangley Club, where he took the step into programme development. From there he became Tennis Development Officer with first hand experience of club tennis at Bexley where he is a member of the Mens 1st team
Tennis Development Officer
Harri gained a scholarship to Sutton Tennis Academy at the age of 16. She has since worked as a Duty Manager at a local leisure centre, has gained the LTA Level 3 Development Coach Award, has worked as Director of Competition for East Kent Tennis Academy and been Canterbury Indoor Tennis Centre Manager. She is also a qualified ABTO Referee. Harri Currently plays for Canterbury LTC and captains their ladies 1st team. Her mains roles as Kent Tennis Development Officer will be to support coaches, clubs and competition organizers to increase the number of youngsters playing tennis. Other responsibilities include the support and delivery of schools competitions and working closely with volunteers.
Tennis Services Assistant
Siobhan gained a 2.1 honours degree in Psychology with Sport and Exercise Psychology from Canterbury Christ Church University. She is a qualified assistant tennis coach and was captain and president of her University tennis team. Siobhan is a qualified referee and organising the Winter 2010-11 County Tour Events. Other responsibilities include organising the Winter Junior League, arranging referee courses and updating the website.
Janice first joined the LTA in 1976 and has seen many changes over the years. Working in the Competition Services Team and The Services Hub she has gained a vast knowledge of the services and products which British Tennis has to offer. She will be working part-time, Monday, Wednesday and Friday and her main responsibilities include supporting the county cup teams, Kent schools competitions and competition more generally. Janice’s wealth of experience and customer care will be a huge asset to the Kent Team.
Talent Performance Coordinator
Simon is qualified as a Senior Performance Coach and has been a full time coach for 10 years working in Kent, Cornwall and abroad. In Cornwall he was Head Coach at Penzance where he managed the coaching programme achieving Satellite Accreditation. Simon returned in 2010 to the Bromley Tennis Centre where he was the Junior Coordinator before starting this role with the LTA in January 2011. Simon’s role is to search for talented young players in Kent by managing the Talent ID process. He is in constant communication with coaches, parents and players to keep them on track to being the best they can be. This is done by attending Regional & National Camps as well Competitions and training sessions at their clubs.
