12 teams will compete in the finals, with two teams already known, namely the hosts The Gloucestershire, and the holders Edgbaston Priory. Edgbaston are hoping to name a quartet consisting of Jonny Marray, Mark Hilton, Simon Dickson and Dan Kiernan (all either current, or very recent world ranked doubles players).
Gloucestershire are hoping to field Richard Bloomfield, Jamie Delgado, Colin Bennett and Tim Bradshaw (another strong team).
In a match both pairs would play each other in best of three sets, with all third sets being Champions Tiebreak, adding to very closely fought matches, with a lot of drama and excitement at times. All 12 teams will be known at the beginning of March, but it is expected to have teams from all over the UK, and is well worth a visit to watch one or two sessions over the five days.
All timings for each day are on the poster, and tickets details on the order form.
The Wednesday evening will see the British Legends (Jeremy Bates, Nick Fulwood, confirmed) appearing to officially launch the event, with an opportunity to participate with the legends on the evening for Gloucestershire Tennis Players.
This is also a corporate evening, with a memorabilia auction with proceeds from the auction going to The Pied Piper Appeal, and after dinner speaker. Special rates are available for Gloucestershire Clubs. If groups or individuals are interested in hearing more about the launch evening, or for tickets in general please contact Mike Dixon directly on: 07870 778490.
