Chipping Campden Tennis Club have taken part in the first ever Four Counties Inter Club Challenge recently held at Bewdley Tennis Club in Worcestershire.

The brainchild of Head Coach, Geoff Barrie, Bewdley (Hereford & Worcs) welcomed players from Chipping Camden(Glos), Shifnal (Shropshire) and Halesowen(Staffs).

Each club fielded four U14 age group boys, none of whom play regular competition tennis. The round robin singles format gave all the players valuable match experience, and left them asking for more such events.

Bewdley coach Geoff Barrie said “there were 24 matches played altogether, with sportsmanlike conduct displayed by all the boys. All in all a great day’s tennis.” Thanks to all the coaches who supported the day at Bewdley.

Shifnal were the victors with 11 wins, and returned home with the cup.
