Six of our Cumbrian coaches attended a recent forum at Kirkby Stephen March 26 2010.

The first session ran from 10am-12pm and was led by Mike Woods, who is the Talent Performance Co-ordinator for the North East and Cumbria. 

Mike went through some key areas of performance coaching, which included the tactical situations, warm ups and on court drills. 

Following a short break the Forum went on to discuss age group changes from September 2010, an update on competitions including mini tennis ratings, junior ratings / rankings, grading of tournaments, and resources available. 

The afternoon concluded with a discussion about Cumbria age group training sessions.  It was a great opportunity for the coaches to bring their ideas and suggestions about Cumbrian tennis and hopefully we can move forward with things.
