Bitts Park in Carlisle welcomed 12 wheelchair players down to sample the sport last weekend!
The players were from Penrith, Wigton, West Cumbria and Carlisle. It was first of its kind at the indoor venue and the session was a huge success with the participants saying they would love to see a permanent session taking place in the new year.
Coaches Lee Burrell and Suzzi Garnett helped out with the session that was being led by a qualified coach and everyone who attended had great fun!

Bitts Park is one of many indoor tennis centres across the country starting wheelchair programmes. Some of these centres also have purpose-built tennis wheelchairs, which is what Bitts Park are looking into which is fantastic! If you would like further information about wheelchair or find out more about disability tennis please see the Tennis Foundation website.
