How annoying is it when you leave a slight gap in the curtains and get woken up way too early by the light creeping in? School girl error. That's why so many athletes travel with a wee bag of clothes pegs - to clip the curtains together. Coz total darkness = deeper sleep!
Anyway, been awake since 6am so thought I'd fill you in on yesterday’s Britfest at Roland Garros. Didn't see any of Bally’s match v Vania King as it was on same time as Andy but saw her and Nino getting stuck into pre match baguettes in the player resto beforehand. When in France......Sounded like she came very close according to my post match brief from Nigel "I've just had my hair cut at the free hairdresser in the player lounge" Sears. Have to mention Bally’s Dannii Minogue dress and matching visor. Tres chic. Looking forward to seeing the Wimbledon creation....
Very difficult playing conditions yesterday. Just ask MaSha. She was really struggling with the swirling wind in the Big Box and almost got bumped by a 17yo French wildcard with a Spanish name - Garcia. Andy had managed to come through in 3 in the previous match v dangerous Italian Simone Bolleli. At 6-5 in the 3rd, a hairy leg appeared over my right shoulder.....Dimitry Tursonov climbing over our box to get to the one in front! Anyone else would use the stairs....
Warming up on centre with Gilles Simon. Sharing court with Bolelli and Chardy. Cool and breezy.
Had a bit of time to kill before Jamie’s mixed, so went for a drink in the bar. Needed something to warm me up - baltic out there. "Un chocolat chaud, s' il vous plait". Guy brings me an orange juice. Gone with that. Thought my French accent was ok. Clearly not.
Had a chat with Wozza in there. She was wearing a black Adidas trackie with a white skeleton down the front. From their designer range. Very funky. She was joking that it’s because of her "new diet". Haha. She didn't ask "do my bones look big in this?" Liking that line better.....
Jamie & Nadia Petrova get set for mixed action on court 10 v Andy Ram & Meghan Shaughnessy.
Watched some of Heather’s match on TV in the cafe. Looked like Kaia Kanepi had too much weight. Of shot, I mean. Left before the end to go to court 10 for Jamie’s mixed with Nadia Petrova v Meghan Shaughnessy and Andy Ram. Fun match. Good tennis from 4 dubs experts. 76 75 win and onto R2. Back to the player lounge to wait till Jamie showered, changed, put his rackets into stringer and had back massage. Food in player resto and that's where the fun n games started....
My brother sent a text with a few tennis player dances on it....he's just had knee surgery and clearly bored in hospital. So from Jo Wilfried Conga to Jurgen Walzer to Ballet....it sparked a world wide game on the twittersphere!!! My faves - Ivor Dodgyjig, Leander Paesodoble, Radek Quickstepanek, Big Samba Query, Reggae Stubbs, Janko Tapsarevic and Shimmy Henman. Hahhaha there were loads of good ones. Gay Gordons Monfils . Another classic.....

So another day to support the Brits. Colin Flamenco is on at 11 on 17 and Jamie Murrenge on 3rd on Court 7 vs the Bros!!! Allez!
