Britain’s Heather Watson opens the day on Centre Court in Devonshire Park.

Opening play on Wednesday at the AEGON International will be British wild card Heather Watson against seventh seed Lucie Safarova.

In their one and only meeting earlier this year, 20-year-old Heather Watson sealed a 6-2, 6-1 victory over the 24-year-old Czech on the hard courts in Miami, but the world No.110 is keeping her feet firmly on the ground ahead of her match on Wednesday:

“I am excited to play her again but it will be a new day, on a different surface and hopefully I will come out on top.”

Following the opening women’s match on Centre Court will be defending champion and world No.9 Marion Bartoli playing world No.56 Aleksandra Wozniak. The men then take to court with fourth seed Australian Bernard Tomic against Italian Fabio Fognini and American wild card Andy Roddick facing Jeremy Chardy of France.

British qualifier Laura Robson is second on Court 1 against Ekaterina Makarova who toppled second seed Petra Kvitova on Tuesday while Steve Darcis of Belgium is playing Cyprian Marcos Baghdatis.
