Great Britain will play the Slovak Republic in round one of the Davis Cup by BNP Paribas Euro/Africa Zone Group I on February 10th-12th 2012.
The tie; the AEGON GB Davis Cup Team vs. the Slovak Republic, will be held in Great Britain at a venue to be confirmed in due course.
Leon Smith, captain of the British team said: "The tie against Slovak Republic will be really tough. They have two guys inside the world’s top 100 and a third player at 152 so they are strong in singles, but it’s doubles where they have some particularly good options with three players inside the top 100.
"That said, with a home tie we’ll be able to use the crowd to our advantage which will be really important if we’re to get off to a winning start. We know next year will be a real step up, but that’s exactly what we aimed for.
"We wanted to get promotion to Group I so we could play the stronger nations, really test ourselves and show that we can progress within the competition."
The winners of the tie will meet Belgium in round two on April 6th-8th as each nation looks to get through to the World Group play-offs.
The draw in full is as follows: (s) is seeded nation, (c) means choice of grounds.
