The Lawn Tennis Association (LTA) has announced that the Davis Cup by BNP Paribas tie between Great Britain and Slovak Republic will take place at the Braehead Arena in Renfrewshire, near Glasgow.
The Europe/Africa Zone Group I first round tie will take place from 10-12 February 2012, with the winners to face Belgium in the second round. Great Britain secured promotion to Group I after defeating Tunisia, Luxembourg and Hungary during their 2011 campaign.
Leon Smith, Captain of the AEGON GB Davis Cup Team, said: “We’re really looking forward to returning to Glasgow as we know from previous experience that Braehead provides a great venue with a really supportive atmosphere.
"Next year will be a real step up in terms of the level of competition so it will make the home advantage all the more important. Slovak Republic will be tough to beat, but if we get a full house behind us again, there’s no reason why we can’t get off to a winning start.”
Gavin Fletcher, LTA Tournament Director added: “In Braehead Arena we are fortunate to have access to an indoor facility with all the requirements and expertise to host this type of event, and so I am pleased that once again we can return to a venue that has hosted a couple of excellent ties in 2011.”
Tickets for this tie will go on general sale today via www.ticketmaster.co.uk or the Braehead Arena 24 Hour Box Office on 0844 499 1700. For group bookings please call 0844 844 2121. Full price tickets start at £13.
