Roger Federer has won his sixth Barclays ATP World Tour Finals title after beating Jo-Wilfried Tsonga in three sets in Sunday's singles final.
The Swiss No.1 won 6-3, 6-7(6), 6-3 to claim the title and his sixth year end crown and has moved back to No.3 in the world.
"It feels very special indeed," said Federer afterwards. "I've been able to win six World Tour Finals. It's an amazing feeling. I know it's one of my greatest accomplishments."
In the final it was the fourth seed who started as favourite and won the first set after one break of serve before going a break up in the second.
However the French world No.6 broke back in set two, before saving a match point in the tie-break and winning it 8-6 to take the match into a decider.
In the final set Federer again gained a crucial break to wrap it up in nine games to secure the win.
"I felt like I played great during these last few weeks," continued Federer. "I felt I played great here in London. It gives me a lot of confidence for next year."
Despite losing the final Tsonga was happy with his efforts in London all week: "You know, today I fight all I can. I'm just happy tonight because I had a good week. Of course, to win is better. But I gave everything. Tonight I can see myself in the mirror and say, Yeah, you fight enough."
The doubles event was won by Max Mirnyi (BLR) & Daniel Nestor (CAN) who defeated Mariusz Fyrstenberg & Marcin Matkowski 7-5, 6-3 in the final.
