AEGON British Tour

The AEGON British Tour provides a circuit of tournaments designed to compliment the Senior International Calendar.
The tournaments give up and coming players the opportunity to gain experience in their quest to become professional tennis players, as well as additional domestic competitive opportunities to those already competing on the international stage.
For 2012 there are 36 tournaments with a total of six university venues throughout the year, to provide further opportunities for more players aged 16+ with the chance to access regular competition and earn prize money to support their competition programmes.
The tour continues to operate two Tiers of tournaments, Tier 1 and Tier 2, with each running Men’s and Women’s singles events. Players can gain points from each event with a Leaderboard displaying the total points gained from competitors throughout the year.
Similar to the WTA Tour and ATP Tour, the top players on the Leaderboard after all tournaments have been played are invited to the end of year Masters.
For 2012 there is an increase from 35 to 36 events.
