Andy Murray has won the AEGON Player of the Month award for September.
The British No.1 has won the award after winning 11 of his 12 matches in September, on his way to reaching the semi-finals of the US Open, helping GB gain promotion in the Davis Cup and winning the ATP 250 men's singles title in Bangkok, Thailand.
Add to that the fact that Murray also won the Cincinnati ATP Masters 1000 event just before the US Open in August; it's been quite a good last six weeks for the 24 year old, who has now won 16 of his last 17 men's singles matches.
After success in Cincinnati, including only the second defeat on Novak Djokovic in 2011, Murray went in to the final Grand Slam of the year with confidence, coming through his opening round in straight sets.
In round two the Briton completed a memorable comeback from two sets down against Robin Haase before getting back dominant ways with straight sets win over Lopez and Young.
In the last eight Murray knocked out crowd favourite John Isner in four sets before falling in four sets to Nadal, the man who also beat the world No.4 in the French Open and Wimbledon semi-finals.
With very little time to recuperate the British No.1 headed to Braehead Arena in Glasgow to take part in GB's crucial Euro/Africa Zone Group II Play-off promotion tie versus Hungary.
Performing like a true professional Murray won his opening match in straight sets and even competed in the dead rubber once GB had wrapped up the tie, also winning in straight sets.
After a week’s break the Briton then headed to Thailand to compete at the ATP 250 in Bangkok where he was the No.1 seed.
Murray was emphatic in his opening two matches, as he dismissed Michael Berrer in straight sets and then impressively took out 20 year old rising star Grigor Dimitrov 6-4, 6-4.
After a three set semi-final win over Gilles Simon, where he extended his head to head record with the Frenchman to 8-1, Murray then saved his best performance of the week for the final where he beat Donald Young 6-2, 6-0 in 47 minutes, allowing the American just three points in the second set.
In October Murray will compete in the ATP 500 in Tokyo, followed by the ATP Masters 1000 event in Shanghai, where he is the defending champion, as he builds his preparations for the Barclays ATP World Tour Finals, at The 02 arena in November, the year-end event that he has already qualified for.
