The three hour Secondary Schools Tennis Teacher Training Course has been developed to provide teachers with the confidence and knowledge to deliver traditional and modified versions of the sport.
The course also demonstrates an innovative new resource which has been developed to assist teachers in assessing the ability of pupils against National Curriculum attainment levels, through a range of descriptor cards and film clips.
Teachers attending the course are also provided with an overview of other areas of support and resource, including; cross curricular activities, competition, alternative delivery using Cardio Tennis, leadership & volunteering and how tennis can contribute to the delivery of external PE qualifications.
Schools attending the course receive a free copy of the innovative new 'Secondary Schools Tennis - Teacher Resource'. In addition, schools receive an AEGON Schools Tennis equipment pack (limited to one per school and if your school has not previously received one). Schools are also provided with 1 year of free Schools Tennis Membership, which provides access to a wide range of benefits, including 30-40% discount on equipment.
Each pack contains:
30 x Mini Tennis rackets
30 x outdoor Mini Tennis Red balls
30 x indoor Mini Tennis Red balls
1 x 6m Mini Tennis net
1 x roll of barrier tape
Cardio Tennis is a tennis inspired workout played to up-tempo music. It does not require tennis skills, but is all about keeping your heart rate up, burning calories and having fun. Whether the ball goes in or out is irrelevant as the main purpose is to get fit and healthy.
