The three-hour Primary School Teacher Training Course has been developed to give teachers the confidence and tools to deliver tennis to a class of children in a small space.

The course is supported by an innovative DVD teaching aid, which is pupil facing and delivers the demonstrations and progressions directly to the children, allowing the teacher to do what they do best; teach.

In the 2012/2013 academic year, each teacher that attends the course receives:

AEGON Schools Tennis Equipment Pack (limited to one per school and if your school has not previously received one)

Guide to Schools Tennis
Schools Tennis Competition Guide
Tennis Activity Week Pack (cross curricular resource)
Out of School Hours Tennis Club Toolkit

There is a network of over 125 tutors approved and ready to deliver the course across Great Britain and funding is provided through local Tennis Development Managers to enable the majority of teacher training courses to run free of charge.

Each pack contains:

30 x Mini Tennis Rackets

30 x Outdoor Mini Tennis Red balls

30 x Indoor Mini Tennis Red balls

1 x 6m Mini Tennis net

1 x roll of barrier tape

Volleys & Values
Volleys & Values – inspired by London 2012 – is a cross curricular resource for children to learn more about the game of tennis and the values that underpin the Olympic and Paralympic Games.
Out of School Hours Club Toolkit
Out of School Hours Tennis Clubs are a great opportunity to ‘bridge the gap’ between a young person experiencing tennis at school for the first time and participating in a community environment.
Lesson Plans
A series of lesson plans are available to download, which provide the content and structure for a 5 week block of activity.
Schools Tennis Activity Cards
A range of over 70 Schools Tennis Activity Cards available to download online, to help plan and deliver lessons.
Tennis Activity Week Pack
The Tennis Activity Week Pack is a pre-prepared week of cross-curricular lessons, based on a tennis theme, aimed at children aged 7-9yrs, but can easily be extended and adapted for older primary year groups.
