Is your club or place to play looking to access funding to improve your facilities?
Places People Play is a £135m initiative that will bring the inspiration and magic of a home Olympic and Paralympic Games into the heart of local communities.
The Places strand of the programme will see Sport England investing in modernising and extending club facilities; and opening up facilities for community sport.
If one of the groups benefitting from your planned project is disadvantaged young people aged under 18, you can apply for additional capital (to cover building costs) or revenue funding (day-to-day operating costs) from Thomas Cook Children’s Charity. Simply complete the relevant questions on the application form.
Sport England prefer you to have some partnership funding – either cash or in kind. However, they know funding can be difficult for voluntary or community groups to raise, so they won’t rule out your application if you don’t have any. Local authorities, schools or educational establishments, and other statutory bodies, are expected to provide pound-for-pound partnership funding.
Potential sources of partnership funding include your own funds (cash), funding from partner organisations, LTA funding or funding from your LTA County Association loan scheme (if applicable).
The programme has been launched and will be delivered in 5 funding rounds, with up to £10m available per funding round. Applications can be submitted during the following periods:-
