Essential allplay safety advice

Using allplaytennis.com for the first time?

Keep yourself and your information safe by following our safety tips.

Protect your information

Don’t give out personal information unless you need to. Personal information is easy to give out and impossible to get back.

  • Make sure your allplaytennis.com profile doesn’t include extra personal information like your address or phone number.
  • Email chat with a player before you meet them is a good idea, but avoid giving out unnecessary personal information.
  • When you contact a player through allplaytennis.com, they will have access to your email address. This should be enough to set up a match and get playing.
  • Sharing phone numbers can be useful, but don’t feel pressured into doing this.
  • Avoid sharing your home or work address or other private details with an allplaytennis.com user unless you already know them well offline.
  • Remember that personal information is easy to give out, but impossible to get back!

Protect your safety

Meet new people in a public place with a friend. Keep cash and valuables to a minimum and keep them in sight.

  • Meet other players somewhere public at a sensible time, and if possible in daylight.
  • Be wary of courts, parks and car parks away from public view.
  • Take a friend or play doubles the first time you meet someone.
  • Travel to the match under your own steam; don’t accept a lift or give out your home address to a player unless you know them.
  • Don’t take expensive items, valuables or extra cash on a first meeting. Be careful with your phone and wallet and keep them with you or in sight, even during a match.
  • Make sure someone knows where you are and who you are with.

Use your instincts

If something feels dodgy, it probably is. It’s better to cancel a match than to put yourself at risk.

  • Does another player want a lot of cash up front to pay for a booking?
  • Has someone emailed or called you too often or made offensive or inappropriate comments?
  • Is someone insisting that you meet them at a venue that you don’t feel happy with?
  • If it doesn’t add up, end the contact.
  • It’s better to cancel a match than to put yourself at risk.
  • Read the allplay community standards for more information about what is acceptable from the users of allplay
