local tennis leagues
Local Tennis Leagues are operate box leagues throughout the country which enable you to compete in your local area. The leagues are normally singles-based, however there are also some doubles leagues. These competitions enable you to meet new people, play more matches and improve your game.
There are now over 60 local leagues nationwide from Glasgow to Portsmouth, Sheffield to Ipswich and over 20 in London alone - and the programme is growing. The players are men and women of all standards aged from 18 years upwards.
There are loads of reasons to start competing in the leagues such as:
- Leagues are on local courts – so you never have to travel far to play matches.
- The leagues are for everybody. No matter what your age or standard.
- Local tennis leagues offer singles matches (with doubles in a few venues). They are open to both sexes, so men and women play each other.
- Leagues are registered to the LTA so matches can count for BTM ratings.
- The leagues let you play at times that suit you
- Those who come top of their group win prizes, certificates and promotion!

draw for all
Do you want to play competitive singles against players of a similar Rating? If so then the new circuit of drawforall tournaments is for you.
drawforall tournaments are hosted at many different clubs and venues nationwide. The tournaments will be open to players of all standards whatever their rating and will use a progressive draw format. This means that, for example, players with a rating of 10 will play against each other and the winners will then play players in the 9 rating category, the winners of which will play players in the 8 category and so on. Absolutely anyone can enter (if 15 years old by 31 August 2013) and be certain that they will play against a someone of similar standard/rating.
Entrants will be guaranteed two matches; first round losers will automatically be placed in a consolation draw. Every match will be played with 3 new Dunlop balls and the loser of each match will keep the balls.
Each individual draw will be played to a conclusion and prizes will include an exclusive drawforall Dunlop rucksack for the winner.
Entry fees for each event will be £15 and entries will be accepted via the LTA Website
Players will need to have an LTA British Tennis Membership and Rating to enter, further information about British Tennis Membership can be found here.
Every result will count towards your rating and all results will be submitted to the LTA.
All matches will be two tie break sets (6 all) with a third set match tiebreak. Sudden death deuce (the receiver choosing sides) will be played to make the matches more exciting.
