Tennis is fun, great for fitness and for developing hand eye co-ordination. It can be played by all ages and abilities and boys and girls can play together, so it’s ideal for mixed classes.
Through a wide range of activities the Tennis Foundation is spearheading the work to increase access to tennis across schools, further and higher education. Working in close partnership, the Tennis Foundation and the Lawn Tennis Association have supported teachers with training, resource and equipment to help them deliver tennis in schools. In addition, we have developed innovative packages of support to develop tennis in further education colleges and universities. This is focussed on increasing the opportunities for students to play, compete and train as volunteers and coaches.
