A Past President of the LTA (from 1997-99) and still an LTA Councillor, Sir Geoffrey was Chairman of the British Tennis Foundation from 2003 until 2007, becoming President of re-launched Tennis Foundation.An Oxford Blue and Honorary Cambridge Blue, Sir Geoffrey was a Wimbledon Championships player in 1954/55/56/59, and British Veterans’ Singles Champion at Wimbledon in 1978. Sir Geoffrey was a member of the Wimbledon Championships Management Committee for 12 years and Chairman of the Championships Finance Committee.Sir Geoffrey is also President of Cambridge University Lawn Tennis Club, Chairman of Cambridge University Cricket and Athletics Club, Emeritus Chairman of the Royal Shakespeare Company, Trustee and Chairman of the Audit Committee of the Cambridge University Foundation, and Chairman of the Royal Theatrical Support Trust. An Honorary Fellow of Jesus College, Oxford, and Fellow of Clare Hall, Cambridge, he also has a French knighthood (Chevalier de l’Ordre des Arts et des Lettres 1982).
Jonathan is an LTA Councillor (nominated by the Tennis Foundation) representing the Tennis Foundation. Jonathan was co-founder and Chief Executive of Shaftesbury PLC, a property company investing in the West End of London, from 1986 until 2011. He is now the Deputy Chairman of Shaftesbury PLC.An Oxford graduate, Jonathan is Chairman of Tregarthens Hotel, Scilly Isles, and he was formerly Managing Director of Stock Conversion PLC, Chairman of the Porthminster Hotel, St Ives, Deputy Chairman of the Crafts Council, and a member of the Committee of the Art Fund.He advised on the building of the National Tennis Centre, and of the new Royal Shakespeare Theatre. Jonathan acts in an advisory capacity to a number of charitable bodies, including The Art Fund, The Royal Shakespeare Company, the Theatres Trust, and Cambridge University. He was a Governor of the Royal Shakespeare Company, and he is a Council member of the Royal Theatrical Support Trust.
A former local community Sports Development Manager, Funke has held a national role for the LTA developing a network of City Tennis Clubs, primarily in urban areas, and on equality and diversity.Funke is currently an LTA Councillor (nominated by the Tennis Foundation) and holds a policy role for the Football Association leading on football equality. She also chairs the Tennis Foundation's Disability Development Advisory Group.
Vic was an executive with Direct Line Insurance and a member of the company's Board of Directors. He held responsibility for the Direct Line sponsorships of tennis events and the Cliff Richard Tennis Trail. He was a Trustee of the Cliff Richard Tennis Foundation from 1992 to 2008.
A retired Civil Servant, Sheila is a Vice-President of the LTA, an LTA Councillor and was a Main Board member of the LTA from 2001 to 2007.Sheila was both Chairman of the Civil Service LTA and Company Secretary for her club, Sheen Lawn Tennis and Squash Club, for many years and remains a Director of the club. She was also Assistant Referee for the Surrey Junior County closed event.
Ian Hewitt sits on the Committee of Management of The Championships, Wimbledon and is a member of the All England Lawn Tennis Club, which he represents on the LTA Council. He was previously on the LTA Council for many years as a nominated representative of Hampshire & Isle of Wight LTA including a four-year period as a member of the Main Board.He was a regular member of the county's senior team for over 20 years and the team's non-playing captain for many years. He was a lawyer during his professional career, being a partner for more than 20 years at the leading law firm of Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer.
Neil has worked for most of the last 30 years in the public sector in both sports development and facility management in the fields of sport and culture. He has worked with a number of sports governing bodies and has been a national Council member, and Chair, of the Institute of Sport and Recreation Management.He worked for Yorkshire Forward, the Regional Development Agency, and is now the Director of Partnerships and Sponsorship at Clipper Ventures PLC. Neil is also an LTA Councillor (nominated by the Tennis Foundation) representing the local authority sector.
Tony is the Director of Physical Education at the University of Cambridge and he is currently responsible for all aspects of sport including the management of facilities and associated staff, the design and development of new facilities, fundraising, sponsorship, licensing, bursaries and scholarships.He has served on a number of LTA boards and committees including the National Tennis Facilities Divisional Board from 2001-2005 and from 2005-2009 has been a member of the Funding Committee (as Chairman from 2007-2009). Tony is currently an LTA Main Board member and also an LTA Councillor (nominated by the Tennis Foundation) representing the further education sector.
A retired PE teacher, Jo has represented the British Schools' Tennis Association on the LTA Council since December 1984 and was a long-serving member of the LTA's Disciplinary Committee.
Currently the wheelchair tennis manager for LOCOG ahead of the London 2012 Paralympic Games, Jayant is also an LTA Councillor (nominated by the Tennis Foundation).Jayant was the British no.1 men's wheelchair tennis player for over 15 years and won 68 international titles during that time.
Cathie was elected LTA Deputy President in December 2010 and is a member of the Main Board of Lawn Tennis Limited.Cathie is a teacher by profession, and was previously Assistant Head of a Specialist Sports College in Shropshire and national Tennis Teacher of the Year. She is a qualified referee, actively involved in County tennis as Past President while playing for the County and being Director of the Junior County Closed.Cathie is a member of the LTA Child Protection Committee, LTA Equality Diversity and Inclusion Committee and Chairman of the Tennis Foundation Education Advisory group.
Matt is a Development Manager for the Greater Manchester Sports Partnership where he is responsible for the management and implementation of all Children and Young People related programmes across the County. This involves working with key partners to support links between education and community sport.Matt has been involved in tennis for over 25 years and experienced all levels of the game. After competing as a full-time national junior player, he became an LTA Club Coach, Tutor and Tennis Development Officer. He is an LTA Councillor (nominated by the Tennis Foundation) representing the education sector and is a member of the Tennis Foundation’s Education Advisory Group.
Jenny comes from an educational background. Her teaching experience and coaching qualifications led to her appointment as Director of Tennis at Queenswood School, a role she carried out for 12 years. Following a coaching position for Hertfordshire LTA as the County Performance Officer, Jenny began her present employment as a coach education tutor.Jenny is involved in the delivery of courses for a number of educational providers, including a recently formed company Ucoach, of which she is a Director. As a player she represented Northumberland, Hertfordshire and Wales. She is an LTA Councillor (nominated by the Tennis Foundation) representing the coaching sector.
Charles Trippe joined the Tennis Foundation Board of Trustees in January 2011 as Honorary Treasurer and he is a Certified Accountant. He has been involved in British Tennis for over 30 years and in international tennis with the International Tennis Federation (ITF) since 2005.He represented Great Britain in the World University Games in 1965, played for his county at senior level for 22 years and was successively County Treasurer and Chairman. He was Honorary Treasurer of the Veterans' LTA of Great Britain and joined the LTA Council as their Councillor in 1990. He was appointed Chairman of its Development Board and a full Board Member in 1994, becoming Honorary Treasurer in 1998 and President from 2003 to 2005.He has been a member of the Committee of Management of The Championships since 1998. From 2005 to 2009 he was a member of the ITF Board and a Vice President and was also chairman of the ITF Seniors and Constitutional Committees. In 2009 he was appointed to the ITF Davis Cup Committee, a position that he still holds.
