St. Mary's Tennis Club
St. Mary’s is one of the few tennis clubs in England to provide clay courts, the same surface as that used for most of the major European tournaments and by the National Tennis Centre at Roehampton. Clay is the ideal surface for beginners, social players and professionals. The club, set in attractive sheltered parkland in Isleworth, welcomes players of all ages and ability and offers competitive and regular social play, with tennis balls provided. Coaching is available for adults and children.
Overall rating:
If you like to play on clay you will love this small friendly club. The courts are absolutely superb - the same clay as used at the National Tennis Centre. Clay is the ideal surface for players of all abilities and the courts are so well sheltered that wind is never an issue. The club is small and everyone is made to feel very welcome. If you are on your own you will always be invited to join in. As the courts are so gentle on the feet & joints you can play all day, as many members do. Balls are provided free of charge & membership fees are well below the average. With clay courts so rare in England this is a club well worth visiting. However if you are looking for a bar you will be disappointed. This is a tennis club for those who love tennis. [report]
