Shanghai - Wednesday 12 November

It's a bit colder today, I needed a hoody when I hit the shops. I've found shanghai pretty expensive, I was expecting everything to be dirt cheap but most items in the shopping malls cost more than they do at home, so much for my Christmas shopping!

I'm sitting in the players lounge at the tournament site now, there are two player lounges, one for the singles players and one for the doubles guys. The singles players also have their own locker rooms which doesn't happen anywhere else to my knowledge.

There's also a player recreation area which is full of arcade games (the racing car ones seem to be the most popular), pool table and even a band area with guitars, a microphone and a drum kit. The Bryan brothers are pretty handy on these things.

The player restaurant is waiter service and has a great selection of pasta dishes and some very tempting gateaux. You don't often see the players going for the sweet options but pastas and salads are always in demand.

Andy's on first tonight at 6pm v Gilles Simon who beat Federer in 3 sets on Monday. Federer v Roddick follows and I'm going to commentate on that for 5 Live.

Shanghai Masters Bowl

The commentary boxes are so high up that you have a great view of the whole 16,000 seater circular stadium. I could see the players coming on to court through a navy screen with sparkling lights and surrounded by fake smoke. Pretty cool. I hadn't been able to see that in Andy's match as he was already on court by the time I found our seats!

Later guys
