I have just got back to hotel and I'm starving after a three hour marathon of commentary on Dokic v Kleybanova match.
It was an amazing match and the Dokic drama continues! What a story it is but how tough for Alisa Kleybanova to be playing her first ever match on Rod Laver Arena with only her coach for support while 14,000 people were cheering for her opponent!
Seriously, you could almost hear a pin drop when she won a point, the poor soul even got a warning for coaching while she exchanged some Russian verbals with Iulian Gaspar which seemed a bit harsh and pre-supposed the umpire spoke Russian.

She's only 19 but this is her 5th Oz Open, which means she first made the main draw as a 15 year old. Already this week she had knocked out Ivanovic and for sure she has a big future in the game. She was a break up in the 3rd but went down 7-5, 5-7, 8-6 but the quality of both the players baseline driving was awesome. There wasn't much in the way of any change of pace, spin, height or depth but that's a rare thing in the women's game now that Henin has retired and Mauresmo is on the wane.
There was some speculation in the press out here that Damir Dokic, renowned, but estranged, Dad of Jelena, would make an appearance if she gets to the final. Would that be enough to make her chuck it? Haha, I doubt it, she is doing great. She has been very calm and very consistent and the win tonight takes her into the top 100, is she on her way back to the top 10 for the first time since 2002/3? Why not?

Jamie won his mixed today with Liesel Huber over big serving Aussie Chris Guccione and Sophie Ferguson. It was on Margaret Court arena so had a good crowd and atmosphere which always suits Jamie.
The juniors also got under way with an easy win for the No. 9 seed Heather Watson but a three set loss for Hannah James, I'm looking forward to watching Laura Robson and James Chaudry tomorrow and of course Andy.
There has been alot of chat out here this week about the size and shape of some of the women players. Some ex players and well known coaches are putting their rather strong views forward that certain of the ladies aren't as fit or toned as they ought to be, which has led to some stinging rebukes from the girls!

Another interesting snippet for you - Dudi Sela, the little Israeli who took on Jo Willy Tsonga yesterday was questioned in his press conference about receiving coaching by text from his coach during the match.
TV footage showed his coach sending a text message just before a change of ends, when Sela sat down he was then shown searching in his bag for his phone which he duly checked. He maintained he was merely switching it off because it was vibrating but the TV pundits weren't convinced!
Think that's about it for today guys - more tomorrow
