Mel South, Naomi Cavaday and Anne Keothavong are all going strong at $50k tournaments around the world while Alex Slabinsky is through to the semi-final at the $15k in Uzbekistan.
Mel South is safely through to the quarter-final at the $50k in Japan where she will meet the Japanese No 8 seed, Akiko Yonemura. The British No 4, who is also seeded No 4 in the singles draw, defeated Shuko Aoyama 4-6 6-2 6-4 and Kai-Chen Chang 1-6 6-2 6-3 in the opening two rounds.
South is also competing in the doubles event with Nicole Thyssen. Seeded No 3, the Anglo-Dutch pair are due to play Japanese duo Erika Takao and Mari Tanaka for a place in the semi-final.
At the $50k in Florida, Naomi Cavaday is set to meet Slovenian Petra Rampre in the last 16 having defeated Madison Brengle 6-4 6-0 in the first round. Anne Keothavong has gone one further at the $50k in Lebanon as she prepares to face Slovakian Kristina Kucova in the quarter-final.
A trio of Brits, Katie O’Brien, Elena Baltacha and Amanda Elliott, all fell at the second hurdle at the $75k in Croatia. In the first round, O’Brien defeated Claudine Schaul 6-4 6-2, Baltacha defeated Yulia Fedessova 6-3 6-7(7) 7-5 and Elliott defeated Anne Kremer 5-7 6-3 1-1 (retired).
At the $25k in Mexico, Sarah Borwell and Anna Fitzpatrick have won their opening matches against Sabrina Capannolo 6-3 6-3 and Erika Clarke-Magana 7-6(2) 2-6 6-3 respectively. Borwell is also through to the second round of the doubles event with American Robin Stephenson.
Three juniors, Steph Cornish, Jade Windley and Yasmin Clarke, have all impressivley made it through to Friday's last eight at the $10k in Edinburgh having already notched two wins.
Alex Slabinsky, seeded No 1 at the $15k in Uzbekistan, is through to the semi-final where he will meet American Ryan Young. On route, the 22 year-old defeated Vladyslav Krymenko 6-2 7-6(3), Weerapat Doakmaiklee 6-1 6-3 and Kento Takeuchi 6-2 6-2.
