British No.1 Andy Murray is through to the semi-finals of the Brisbane International after a 6-4, 7-6(3) win over Denis Istomin (UBZ).
The defending champion overcame the word No.43 in one hour and 37 minutes to seal his place in the final four. Murray, who defeated Dolgopolov in 2012 to win the Brisbane title, faces Kei Nishikori of Japan for a place in the final.
The world No.3 has played Nishikori twice before, never once dropping a set in either encounter.

Qatar ExxonMobil Open – Doha, Qatar
Players: Jonny Marray
Jonny Marray & Dustin Brown of Germany have been defeated in the semi-finals of the men’s doubles in Doha, Qatar. The pair played second seeds Julian Knowle & Filip Polasek but were defeated 7-5, 6-7(5), 10-6.

Aegon British Tour Graves
Players: Dan Evans, Richard Bloomfield, Anna Fitzpatrick, Danielle Konotoptseva
The Aegon British Tour Graves, the first Aegon British Tour of 2013, is underway at Graves Tennis & Leisure Centre, Sheffield this week. Having reached the final stage of the men’s draw, second seed Dan Evans is due to face third seed Richard Bloomfield. Meanwhile in the final of the women’s singles, top seed Anna Fitzpatrick plays fourth seed Danielle Konotoptseva.

Grade 4 – Salk Open – Sweden
Players: Georgina Axon
Georgina Axon has reached the quarter-finals and the semi-finals of the girls’ singles and doubles respectively in Sweden.
In the singles, Axon plays Swede Fanny Ostlund for a place in the final four, while in the doubles the 13 year-old has teamed up with Russian Anna Blinkova. The duo meet Swedish pairing Isabelle Entenza & Kajsa Rinaldo Persson next.

Grade 5 - Belgrade Open 2013 – Serbia
Players: George Hedley
George Hedley and Slovakian partner Jan Vit Suntar are through to the boys’ doubles semi-finals in Serbia. To reach the final they must overcome Serbian duo Filip Grbic & Dusan Vukicevic.
Category 3 - Open des 10-12 du TCBB – France
Players: Jacob Fearnley, George Loffhagen, Esther Adeshina
Jacob Fearnley is through to the quarter-finals of the boys’ 12U singles in France where he plays Tom Leblanc Claverie of France for a place in the final four. Fearnley is also through to the boys’ doubles quarter-finals with compatriot George Loffhagen.
Meanwhile in the 12U girls’ singles, Esther Adeshina has reached the third round after defeating Olmpe Lancelot (FRA) in straight sets.
John Trehearn, National Junior Coach said: “It was a good win for Esther who played a very good defensive player with an excellent backhand slice. Esther maintained her composure when it mattered and closed out the match well.”
Adeshina plays French wild card Diana Martynov (FRA) next.
Laura Robson is set to make her debut in the top 50 in the WTA rankings on Monday 7 January.
As a result of Robson winning her opening match against Edina Gallovits-Hall and reaching the second round of the Shenzhen Open in China, the WTA have calculated that Robson will break the top fifty for the first time in her career. Robson is expected to join compatriot Heather Watson (currently ranked 49) making it the first time since Jo Durie and Sara Gomer in July 1987 that there have been two Britons in the top fifty.
Australian Open Qualifying
Players: Jamie Baker, James Ward, Anne Keothavong, Johanna Konta
Jamie Baker, James Ward, Anne Keothavong and Johanna Konta will line up in the Australian Open qualifying draw this year.
Five years ago, British No.2 Baker qualified for the main draw and took a set from giant Croat Ivo Karlovic. British No.3 Ward will be making a fifth consecutive appearance in qualifying at Melbourne Park. Twelve months ago the Londoner reached the main draw for the first time, falling to Slovenia’s Blaz Kavcic.
On the women’s side, Australian born Konta will be making her debut at Melbourne Park. British No.3 Keothavong has made three previous main draw appearances in the last four years and in 2011 came through qualifying before stretching Andrea Petkovic to three sets in round two.
