GRC Bank Guangzhou International Women's Open 2012
Laura Robson has become the first British woman through to a WTA singles final in 22 years after a straight sets defeat over Sorana Cirstea in China. The British No.1 defeated the Romanian 6-4, 6-2 in the semi-finals of the Guangzhou Open to match Jo Durie's 1990 appearance in the final of Newport. In the final, Robson will play world No.53 Hsieh Su-Wei from 8am BST on Saturday.

Toray Pan Pacific Open
Heather Watson is through to the second round of the women’s singles in the Toray Pan Pacific Open. Having qualified for the WTA Premier event, the British No.2 faced world No.30 Sabine Lisicki in the opening round winning 6-4, 7-6(3). Watson plays Russia’s Maria Sharapova next.

Alexander Slabinsky and Spanish partner Ferran Ventura-Martell reached the semi-finals of the men's doubles in Spain. In the final four the pair played Spaniards Ivan Arenas-Gualda & Jaime Pulgar-Garcia but were defeated 6-1, 6-2.

Amanda Carreras has reached the semi-finals of the women's singles after a 6-1, 6-0 win over fifth seed Parrizas-Diaz. Seeded fourth, Carreras plays second seed Ximena Hermoso (MEX) for a place in the final. The in-form Briton has only dropped four games this week.

AEGON GB Pro-Series Shrewsbury – Women’s singles & doubles
Swiss third seed Stefanie Voegele is through to the final of the AEGON GB Pro-Series Shrewsbury after defeating France’s Julie Coin 6-4, 6-4 in the last four. To contest the title, Voegele plays Germany’s Annika Beck who defeated Russia’s Marta Sirotkina 6-2, 4-6, 6-0.
Meanwhile in the doubles, top seeded Czech pairing Karolina Pliskova & Kristyna Pliskova are playing second seeds Vesna Dolonc (SRB) & Stefanie Voegele (SUI) for the title.

AEGON British Tour Cambridge – Men’s & Women’s singles
The AEGON British Tour Cambridge has reached the final and semi-final stages of the men’s and women’s singles in Hills Road Sport & Tennis Centre, Cambridge. In the women’s draw, top seed Emilia Banos-Gregorians is playing second seed Danielle Konotoptseva for the title.
Meanwhile in the men’s draw which has reached the semi-final stages, third seed Jack Carpenter plays Richard Bloomfield in one semi-final, while fourth seed Oliver Hudson takes on unseeded James Elliot in the other.

Grade 2 – Smash Academy Egypt ITF Junior Tournament - EgyptKaty Dunne has won the Smash Academy Egypt ITF Junior Tournament girls’ singles title. Fifth seeded Dunne came through four rounds of matches before defeating top seed Anastasiya Komardina (RUS) 4-6, 6-2, 6-1 in the final. Dunne was also in doubles action with Komardina and the duo finished as the runners-up to Justine De Sutter (BEL) & Ilze Hattingh (RSA) after a 3-6, 6-1, 11-9 defeat in the final.
