Year 8 & 10 Competition reaches Knockout Stage
As the new school term begins, the regional knockout stages of the AEGON Team Tennis Schools Year 8 & 10 Knockout Stages begin this week as schools tennis teams from across Great Britain take to the courts once again.
A five year record entry of 2,425 schools tennis teams in Years 7 – 10 from England, Scotland and Wales entered the league stage of the competition which took place on a local level between April – July.
Matt Byford, Circuit Director for AEGON Team Tennis Schools commented: "The Year 8 & 10 knockout stage is an exciting part of the competition as teams play outside of their own city or county for the first time this year.
220 teams remain in the competition out of the 2,400+ who played in the league stage so we can expect the standard of tennis and the quality of the competition to be very high across the country. We wish good luck to all players who are representing their schools tennis team in the knockout stages and beyond."
