Jay Clarke - the 14U Tennis Europe No.1
Jay Clarke secured his status at the top of the Tennis Europe 14U boys’ ranking list on Tuesday after two consecutive wins in U14 Category 1 Tennis Europe events, the first in Romania and the second in Italy.
The first event in Romania saw top seed Clarke take the title after defeating compatriot Sam Ferguson 6-7(3), 7-6(2), 6-4 in the final. Clarke also finished as runner-up in the boys doubles with partner Mikael Yemer (SWE).

A week later Clarke Clarke was back in action in Italy, this time seeded third. After defeating Enrico Dalla Valle (ITA) 7-6(3), 6-4 in the semi-finals, the Briton faced Gian Marco Moroni in the final. Clarke overcame the Italian 7-6(4), 6-4.
Clarke was also successful in the boys’ doubles with partner Kenneth Raisma (EST). The top seeded duo defeated Hungarian fifth seeds Akos Kotorman & Mate Valkusz 6-4, 5-7, 10-0 to claim the winner’s title.

Following a hard-fought encounter at East Gloucestershire two weeks ago, Beckford played host to Chalford in our second match of the season. The early start coincided with some rare sunshine, and a gentle breeze provided perfect conditions for tennis. The Chalford team comprised Daniel, Elsie, Felix and Ruben, coached by Charlie Crisp, and representing Beckford were Ben, Freddie, Harry, Ian and Louis, coached by Simon Filiatrault and Liam Gough.

AEGON Team Tennis is a singles based team competition for registered places to play. It aims to provide players of all ages (8&U – Open) with regular league matches, against similar standard players in a competitive team environment.
Kids Day at the AEGON Classic
Sunday 10th June at the AEGON Classic is Kids Day supported by Calthorpe Estates and Taylor Wimpey Midlands.
With free admission for all the day sees face painting, live music and a lunchtime BBQ as well as some tennis.
