Robson charges on in Girls' Singles

British Junior No. 2 Laura Robson is one step closer to The Junior Championships final as she unhinged Bojana Jovanovski in her quarter-final match today.

Robson has come through the first three rounds without dropping a set and defeating the top seed Australian Melanie Oudin. She continued on top form as she knocked out the 9th seed Jovanovski in straight sets 7-5 6-4 and bought herself a spot in the final four.

In the semi-finals, Laura will face Slovak Romana Tabakova who defeated fellow Brit Jocelyn Rae in the first round and also knocked out the 14th and 5th seeds on her way to the semis.

Only 14 years old, Robson climbed to a personal best of 36th in the world in the ITF Combined Junior Rankings this past week after making it to the final in the ITF Grade 1 event in Rohampton prior to Wimbledon.

Laura Robson is the final British player remaining in the singles draw as Naomi Broady bowed out in the quarter-finals.

Meanwhile, Naomi Broady battled hard against 3rd seed Noppawan Lertcheewakarn winning a close first set but she eventually lost 7-6(6) 3-6 4-6. The 18 year old enjoyed a fantastic run on route to the quarter-final including wins against Ana Bogdan, Zarina Diyas and Nikola Hofmanova.
