Hutchins and Huss defeated in Marseille

Ross Hutchins and Australian Stephen Huss lost their doubles semi-final on Saturday at Open 13 in Marseille.

Hutchins and Huss, who won their first two matches without dropping a set, were beaten by the French pairing of Arnaud Clement and Michael Llodra 6-2 7-6(2).

In 2007, Clement and Llodra teamed up to win the doubles title at Wimbledon, beating American twins Bob and Mike Bryan in the final.

Hutchins and Huss are searching for their second ATP World Tour doubles title together after being crowned champions in Beijing last September.

GB boys reach Winter Cup final

Great Britain 14&U boys’ team are through to the final at the Tennis Europe Winter Cup by HEAD in Pruhonice, Czech Republic.

Made up of Chris Pearce, Luke Bambridge and Evan Hoyt, the GB team have defeated Belarus and Netherlands to book a place in Sunday’s final against France.

On Saturday, Great Britain swept aside Netherlands 3-0 with Pearce beating Russell Evangelista 7-5 6-4, Bambridge beating Jelle Sels 6-1 6-0 and Bambridge and Hoyt beating Sels and Vincent Kommers 7-5 6-1.

Meanwhile, the GB 14&U girls’ team, made up of Katy Dunne, Pippa Horn and Beth Askew, lost their opening fixture to Belgium before defeating Serbia on Saturday. They will now face Czech Republic in Sunday’s 5th-6th play-off.
