Richard Bloomfield and Matt Illingworth will face each other in the $10k singles semi-final at London’s Campden Hill LTC.
Bloomfield, seeded No 1, secured his place in the last four with a three sets victory over Yann Marti of Switzerland while Illingworth recorded a comprehensive win against Robert Varga of Hungary.
In the doubles, Colin Fleming and Ken Skupski are set to meet No 2 seeds Ivan Cerovic and Daniel Danilovic in Saturday’s final at 12 noon. The British pair is attempting to win back-to-back titles after clinching victory in Glasgow last week [find out more].
At the Paris Masters, Andy Murray’s 14 match winning streak came to an end in the quarter-final against David Nalbandian. The British No 1 was attempting to win an unprecedented third straight Masters title but will now turn his attentions to the final event of the year, the Masters Cup in Shanghai.
In Taunton, Tim Hewitt will meet Matt Leahy in Saturday’s men’s final while Holly Richards will play Olivia Smith to decide the destiny of the women’s title. Meanwhile, the Nottingham Indoor wheelchair event will draw to a close over the weekend with a number of Brits in action.
In the junior game, Joshua Gledden is through to the ITF Grade 5 singles semi-final in Andorra while Daniel Cochrane has teamed up with Ciaran Fitzgerald of Ireland to reach the doubles final.
British success at the ITF Grade 4 in Belgium sees Tom Farquharson and Roisin Mullins through to the boys’ and girls’ singles quarter-finals respectively. The pair has also reached the last eight in the doubles, Farquharson with Lewis Burton and Mullins with Joanna Horne.
