Andy Murray was unable to defeat world number two Rafael Nadal at the semi final stage of the Toronto Masters.
Having played some superb tennis against Novak Djokovic to reach the semi final stages of the Toronto Masters, Murray lost 7-6 6-3 to the reigning Wimbledon champion.
A high quality first set was decided on a tie break when the combination of Nadal upping his intensity and Murray suffering from a knee injury meant the Spaniard went ahead in the match.
Although the tennis was still competitive in the second set, Nadal secured the crucial break in the eighth game and went on to win the match and earn a place in the final.
Speaking after the match, Murray said, "He's definitely doing a lot of things better than he was in the past, that's why I think he'll be number one in the world soon."
