Andy Murray will meet Andy Roddick in the Qatar Open final following victory over Roger Federer on Friday.

Murray came from behind to beat Federer 6-7(6) 6-2 6-2 and has now defeated the former world No.1 in their previous three meetings [read more].

Anne Keothavong’s fine run at the ASB Classic in Auckland came to an end on Friday, losing against Elena Vesnina 7-6(3) 1-6 5-7.

Mel South, who is pushing for a place in the world’s top 100, has won her opening qualifying match for next week’s Medibank International in Sydney.

In Birmingham, Ken Skupski will face Max Jones and Naomi Broady will meet Amy Sargeant in the men’s and women’s finals at the first AEGON British Tour event of 2009.

Next week, the inaugural AEGON Pro-Series event will take place at Scotstoun in Glasgow. The men’s $15k and women’s $10k event will attract most of the top Brits who haven’t made the trip Down Under for the Australian Open.
