The HSBC Road To Wimbledon National 14 & Under Challenge 2009 provides young players with the opportunity to compete on the hallowed grass courts of The All England Club.
Divided into three stages, stage one sees players across Britain competing within their local clubs and schools with the winners progressing on to stage two in July, the county finals.
In August, the top 64 boys and girls from the county finals will earn a place in the national finals, being contested at Wimbledon’s Aorangi Park.
Initially, the players will be divided into round-robin groups with a following knock-out competition deciding the champions.
"HSBC shares my desire and commitment to support British Tennis at a grass roots level by encouraging more youngsters to take up and enjoy the game,” said Tim Henman, Road To Wimbledon Ambassador.
“Thousands of young tennis players take part each year and as an ambassador to the initiative, I can vouch for the talent that this competition has nurtured.”
The HSBC Road to Wimbledon is currently accepting entry forms from clubs and schools to host stage one events – the deadline is Friday 30th January.
